Traditionally, jackfruit harvesting involves the use of knives, requiring farmers to climb tall trees or use long poles. This method is labour-intensive, risky, and often damages both the fruit and the tree. Due to the height of the trees and the heavy weight of the fruit, farmers struggle to pluck jackfruits safely, leading to inefficiency and potential injuries.
Recognizing these challenges, Soy Mathew designed a ring-type jackfruit harvesting tool with a gun that allows farmers to pluck jackfruits effortlessly from the ground eliminating the need for tree climbing and reducing the risk of injuries. This innovative tool is capable of handling fruits weighing up to 20 kg, simplifying the process and making harvesting safer, faster, and more efficient for farmers of all scales.
